About Carl Moroder:

Carl Moroder (born in Ortisei, 15.02.1961) lives and works in the northern part of Italy close to Venice.
It was his idea to create a very special collection of sculptures inspired by the masterpieces of the very famous Austrian painter Gustav Klimt (1862-1918).

"I find," so Carl Moroder,"that each of the very expressive designs of Gustav Klimt can comunicate with us. The paintings are not just to look at for their beaut but they send out a real feeling: feeling of love, of care, of purity.

My inspiration was to bring these feelings in a new dimension, making them more real, more touchable".

The result was excellent. The combination of mastercarver-skills with an ancient painting technique used by artists since the 15th century is marvellous. The very decorative designs of Gustav Klimt were lifted to a third dimension.

The realization of this precious handcarved wood-sculptures is completed by using 22-carat gold leaf and real silver for all the decorations.

"The creation of this new collection is a hommage to Gustav Klimt.
It does express all my reverence to this great artist."

Carl Moroder

Klimt was the President of the elite of Austrian painters called "Wiener Secession" founded in 1897 in Vienna. (above left: "The Kiss", the most famous painting of Gustav Klimt.)
